Two Iqaluit men face drug possession charges after they were stopped by police over the weekend.

Police in Rankin Inlet stopped a vehicle in the early hours of July 19 with two occupants, Nunavut RCMP said in a July 20 release.

A brief investigation lead RCMP to a local hotel room, where police executed a search warrant and seized four pounds of marijuana.

Two adult males, both from Iqaluit, were charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking, police said said.

Neither of the accused can be named until they make their first court appearance, scheduled for Dec. 7 in Rankin Inlet.
