Youth turn out in great numbers for the Ilisaqsivik Society July 27 “Bike Rodeo” in Clyde River. The event was intended to promote bike safety, healthy exercise, and “just to have fun.” The community group gave away 14 bikes and 50 helmets, while Ilisaqsivik staff served up healthy food. The RCMP and Junior Rangers set up an obstacle course and other bike challenges and activities throughout the afternoon. The rodeo was supported by the community’s health centre, Quluaq school, the Piqqusilirivvik cultural school and the Northern store. (PHOTO COURTESY OF ILISAGSIVIK)
