Photo: Katittavik Town Hall in Kuujjuaq gets a new mosaic mural

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Weeks of work and scores of helpers, including local artists, children and elders, helped to make this new mosaic a reality at Kuujjuaq's Katittavik Town Hall. The idea for the project began with Suzanne Bettez, who works for the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services, and her southern artist friend Isabelle Marissal, with the help of Sylvie Trudel, also of Kuujjuaq. Local artists Eva LaPage and Matthew Annahatak did the original drawings. In this photo, from left, Marissal, Bettez, Trudel and Aaron Chung are set to put the final touches on the mosaic which is expected to be completed by day's end, Nov. 26. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
