NUNATSIAQ NEWS
A search and rescue team including two divers from Qikiqtarjuaq head out along the shore of Pangnirtung June 30. The divers were brought in to help recover Eric Joamie, a local man who has been missing since June 19, when he was due back from a hunting trip. Dozens of people in the community have volunteered their time to search for Joamie over the last two weeks; now crews are focused on a section of water they believe the man fell into during the ice break up.
