The trio’s team, or dojo, won a silver medal for their synchronized display. “For the competitions, I participated in senior women’s category individual kata, doing my tokui kata, my preferred kata. A kata is a sequence of movements that one practices, even for many years, so that the movements almost become natural,” Koperqualuk said. In her category, Koperqualuk also won a silver medal.
