RCMP regimental dinner in Iqaluit recognizes exceptional members and employees

It was an evening full of pomp and celebration when the achievements of RCMP members and employees received recognition at the “V” Division’s annual regimental dinner in Iqaluit.

The Nov. 8 event celebrated those members and employees who received Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medals, Commanding Officer Commendations and the RCMP’s long service awards.

The following RCMP members and units received special recognition:

Diamond Jubilee medals

• Sgt. Greg Sutherland, “V” Division headquarters
• Cpl. Maria Chartrand, NCO i/c Resolute Bay detachment
• Cst. Sebastien Breton, “V” Division Drug Section
• Cpl. Greg Deagle, NCO Rankin Inlet detachment

Long service medals

• Sgt. Kim Melenchuk, 35 Years – (“V” Division Relief Unit)
• Staff Sergeant Steve Wright, 30 Years (District operations)
• Cpl. Maria Chartrand, 25 Years (NCO i/c Resolute Bay detachment)

• Cpl. Dan Martin (Outstanding Service), “V” Division Major Crime Unit
