Christmas presents for Arctic Bay kids

I would like to thank the following: First Air, Cominco Ltd., Polaris Operation, the Northern Store, the staff of Inuujaq School, the District Education Authority and the people of Arctic Bay who helped to fund-raise. Your contributions made it possible for us to buy Christmas presents for all the students of Inuujaq School.

This annual event started in the early 1970s and it has continued every year since. This tradition has continued successfully with the help of donations from various companies and individuals.

Santa Claus visits each classroom on the last day of school to give out presents. My late father, Joseph Arnauyumayuq, was Santa Claus annually until he passed away, and we’ve asked different people to volunteer their time to be Santa Claus for the annual Christmas present-giving.
