Photo: A commemorative mural for Kangiqsujuaq

Kangiqsujuaq’s youth house got a makeover last week when Iqaluit visual artist Jonathan Cruz was invited to design and paint a mural around
the building. The eye-catching design features an image of the late Kangiqsujuaq elder Naalak Nappaaluk, who died in 2010, to honour the community’s ancestors along with images of local wildlife, plants and the crater at nearby Pingualuit park. (PHOTO BY MARION JAMES)
