Prelim set for CamBay triple murder

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Christopher Bishop, the 21-year-old charged in connection with shootings that left three dead and two injured in Cambridge Bay on Jan. 6, will appear in an Iqaluit court for his preliminary inquiry on Sept. 24.

A preliminary inquiry is held to see if there is enough evidence to move forward to trial. Bishop faces three counts of first-degree murder, and two counts of attempted murder.

Bishop waived his right to appear in court this week, preferring to remain inside the Baffin Correctional Centre.
