Meral Jamal was born and raised in a noisy joint family of 20 in the United Arab Emirates. She is a graduate of Carleton University’s School of Journalism and a reporter with Nunatsiaq News. Her work’s been featured in CBC North, Canada’s National Observer, Canadian Geographic, Windsor Star, and other publications.
