Two people are believed to have fallen through ice near Kangiqsujuaq on Sunday evening.
Police have recovered the body of a woman, according to an email from Nunavik Police Service.
Searchers are still looking for the body of a male who is reported missing in connection with the incident, said deputy Chief Jean-François Morin.
The pair were on a snowmobile when it fell through, he said.
Nunatsiaq News inquired about their identities, but police declined to share that information.
Morin said the search is ongoing.
