No charges to be laid in sexual assault complaint at the Raglan mine
Female worker alleged late-night sexual assault by male co-worker
Sûrété du Québec provincial police say no charges will be laid in connection with a recent sexual assault complaint made by a female worker from Nunavik at Xstrata’s Raglan nickel mine.
According to an SQ spokesperson, Sgt. Benoît Richard, the sexual assault involving a male worker was alleged to have occurred about 1:00 a.m. on Oct. 4.
The Kativik Regional Police Force were notified about the incident Oct. 5. The file was then transferred to the SQ, which conducted an investigation.
No charges will be laid against either the male or female worker, Richard said Nov. 10.
