Baker Lake endangered by poor vehicle enforcement?
I wrote a letter to the mayor of Baker Lake and the commanding officer of the RCMP and never got an answer from either.
I was trying to complain there is no longer any law enforcement on the streets of Baker Lake. No one obeys speed laws, age laws for operating a vehicle, or any other laws concerning vehicles and roads.
Most people operate vehicles dangerous to the public and themselves, including children under the age of 10. Government vehicles are some of the worst offenders.
So what does that mean? This is a free for all and the RCMP and hamlet will keep looking the other way on offenders?
One thing’s for sure, if anything ever happens, like a bad accident, the hamlet, GN, and RCMP will be held accountable for failing to enforce what are supposed to laws protecting the public.
