Iqalummiut fans of Elisapie Isaac will be treated to not one, but two shows by the Quebec singer later this month.

Alianait will present two shows by Elisapie Oct. 18 and 19 at Iqaluit’s Inuksuk High School.

Now known simply as Elisapie, the Salluit-born performer is playing Iqaluit for the first time since 2011.

It will also be Elisapie’s first performance in Iqaluit since she released her second solo album Travelling Love in 2012.

Travelling Love, an English-language album peppered with Inuktitut, was recently nominated for an ADISQ – one of Quebec’s major music awards.

And the singer’s trip to Iqaluit will be part of a short northern tour — she stops in her home-town of Salluit to play at a talent show event Oct. 30.

Elisapie won’t play Iqaluit alone — local four-piece band The Jerry Cans will open for her at each show.

The Oct. 18 show starts at 8:00pm, while the Oct. 19 show starts at 7:00 pm.

Tickets are $22 in advance ($12 for youth 13 to 18) available at Arctic Ventures Marketplace, and $25 at the door ($15 for youth 13 to 18).

All Alianait shows are free for elders and kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult.
