Nunavik women’s association to offer leadership training
Saturviit seeking women’s feedback
The Saturviit Inuit Women’s Association of Nunavik wants to help Nunavimmiut women have better access to leadership roles in their communities — and beyond.
That’s why the organization is working to launch week-long training program sessions the region to offer support and skills training that will help launch women into politics, entrepreneurship or the civil service.
The project, funded through a provincial program called À égalité pour decider or Equal Access in Decision-making.
To develop the training in line with the region’s needs, Saturviit first wants to hear what kinds of support Nunavimmiut women feel they could benefit from, from budgeting and finance skills to communication techniques.
Saturviit is asking women to take five minutes and fill out a survey here.
Those who complete the survey are eligible to win fishing hooks.
Saturviit said the training workshops should be offered throughout the region during the fall of 2016.
