Photo: Happy New Year to our loyal readers and followers

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

A hunter crosses the bay around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, near Cambridge Bay in western Nunavut. Though the sun had basically disappeared by then, it still shone from below the horizon, setting the cloudy sky on fire in shades of yellow and orange and casting a warm glow on residents below. The Iqaluit and Ottawa offices of Nunatsiaq News will close Jan. 1 for the New Year's Day holiday. We would like to thank all our contributors, especially our talented community photographers, including Sarah Meeko, Niore Iqalukjuak, Denise Lebleu, Isabelle Dubois, Jesse Ajayi, Clare Kines, Noel Kaludjak, Derrick Anderson, Frank Reardon, Valter Botelho, David Kilabuk, Doug McLarty, Eric Anoee, Paul Aningat, Claude Constantineau and others. We'd also like to wish our readers and followers a safe and happy New Year and we hope you enjoy your long weekend. Our Jan. 1, 2016 newspaper should be available for pick up by Jan. 2 at the usual locations in your community. We'll be back to regular office hours Jan. 4. (PHOTO BY DENISE LEBLEU)
