Samwillie Grey-Scott stands at the entrance of the Qakimajuq mine Dec. 2, one of four in operation at Glencore's Raglan nickel mine in Nunavik. The Raglan mine, located about halfway between Kangiqsujuaq and Salluit on Nunavik's east side, consists of high grade nickel and copper deposits and employs 950 full-time workers, according to its website. Grey-Scott, originally from Aupaluk, started working at the mine in 2010 as an apprentice miner and now trains new Inuit apprentice miners under Raglan's Tamatumani program.
