Juno award-winner David Myles invited his buddy Abe Agaaqtoq to the stage to play with him during the June 27 Qilaut concert at Nakasuk school, part of this year's Alianait Arts Festival. Myles met Agaaqtoq when the Arviat musician and performer opened for Myles at a March 2014 show in Iqaluit. Myles, a Nova Scotia singer-songwriter and consummate collaborator who embraces all musical genres from folk to jazz and rap, told Nunatsiaq News he cherishes the friendships he has made here and looks forward to more trips to Nunavut in future to continue working with, and learning from, his northern colleagues.
