One of the four dog teams in Toonik Tyme's traditional dog team race takes off on the sea ice at the Iqaluit causeway April 14. About 20 people gathered at the start line to see the teams head off to Tarr Inlet. Other activities planned for April 14 include an ice sculpting contest and a free noon BBQ in front of the V Division RCMP detachment building, a tea and bannock-making contest outside Nakasuk elementary school at 1 p.m., and traditional games and a harpoon throw, also at Nakasuk, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (PHOTO BY SAMANTHA DAWSON)
