Final hearings on Agnico Eagle Mines’ Meliadine project began Aug. 21 at Rankin Inlet`s community hall — the final chance for the Nunavut Impact Review Board to assess the Meliadine gold mine proposal. The first two days of the hearings – Aug. 21 and 22 – are hearing technical presentations from a number of federal departments and Inuit organizations.
