Igloolik’s Joshua Haulli, right, seen here with Ricky Immaroitok after winning this year’s Alianait Battle of the Bands competition, will be opening for Nova Scotia rocker Joel Plaskett in Iqaluit Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 as part of the Alianait concert series. Plaskett recently had a chat with Nunatsiaq News about the role of music in community, about his disappointment in the politics of Stephen Harper, and about how climate change is impacting the lives of northerners.
