The National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration, an American scientific body that monitors weather, atmosphere and the earth's oceans, reports that September 2015 was the hottest September globally ever recorded. Global temperatures, on land and ocean surfaces were, on average, 0.9 C higher than normal, according to an Oct. 28 news release from the NOAA which has been measuring these things since 1880. It was also the biggest jump in average temperatures in the organization's 136-year history, surpassing the previous record set in both February and March 2015: 0.01 C.
