Photo: Iqaluit blizzard, part two: stormy weather returns to the capital

Another strong weather system is battering Iqaluit as of the afternoon of Jan. 27. All Government of Nunavut offices have closed their doors, as well as all schools. Environment Canada downgraded the original forecast from a blizzard to a “wind warning.” Currently the wind speed is at 106 km/h gusting to 117 km/hr, with the wind chill at -25 C, according to Environment Canada’s noon weather report.
