By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Students from Iqaluit's École des Trois-Soleils recently collected 308 outdated phone directories - a record number of directories collected as part of the 2014 Northwestel Directory Recycling Program. The program helps divert previous years’ directories from local landfills and will ensure that their disposal is handled in an ecologically friendly way. For their efforts, Iqaluit students were awarded $750 by Northwestel, which will be used towards class field trips, school supplies, books and extra-curricular activities.
