Junior May of Kuujjuaq, seen here with one of his dogs riding in his kamotik, readies his team and equipment in Kangiqsualujjuaq for the start of the Ivakkak dog team race, now set to be delayed to March 13, due to weather. May and partner Tommy Kooktook are among a dozen teams that will set out for Kangirsuk from Kangiqsualujjuaq, 650 kilometres away on Nunavik’s Ungava Bay coast.
