Look to the skies for a Johnny May surprise: Famed Nunavik pilot Johnny May was at it again, giving away candy and prizes as part of his farewell candy drop tour at Stewart lake April 30. Makivik Corp., Nunavik's birthright corporation, donated $5,000 toward the event and four Air Inuit plane tickets which were dropped among other prizes donated by local businesses including Newviq'vi as well as co-op and Northern stores. May, who's been doing candy drops from his airplane for 50 years, just turned 70, and is hoping to make one more pass over each Nunavik community this year during his final tour. Because last year's Christmas candy drop in Kuujjuaq was postponed due to weather, he does plan to do a final Christmas candy drop this year in Kuujjuaq. (PHOTO BY ISABELLE DUBOIS)
