Besides updates from the president, vice president and secretary treasurer on their efforts in 2015, board members will also discuss proposed operational changes to the Mary River mine and the ongoing negotiations of the Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement with the mine’s owner, Baffinland Iron Mines Corp. The QIA’s board of directors meeting wraps up today, Feb. 18, at Iqaluit’s Frobisher Inn. At the Feb. 18 meeting, board members learned that Baffinland now proposes a railway from Mary River to Milne Inlet to transport iron ore and will delay submission of its environmental impact statement from April 2016 until September 2016.
