Cambridge Bay dancers and drummers entertain about 100 cruise ship passengers Aug. 25 at the start of their trip on board the One Ocean Expedition's Akademik Ioffe. The day's schedule for the cruise ship visitors also included a walking tour of the town — and they left a donation of sports equipment from Canadian Tire's Jumpstart program behind for kids in the community. The Akademik Ioffe is the second cruise ship that has called on Cambridge Bay: on Aug. 15 the MV Bremen docked with 184 passengers on board, and two more cruise ships are yet to call in the western Nunavut community. Of the 21 community stops by cruise ships in Nunavut in 2013, Pond Inlet is the most popular stop, receiving a total of six cruise ship visits.
