Staggered work hours could fix Iqaluit’s traffic problems
As with many small towns in the South, street-lights in Iqaluit could become an invitation for trouble, as many of the younger crowd will see them as a challenge to either peel-out on the green, or try to beat the yellow.
Either scenario isn’t a good one.
Ottawa’s solution to traffic problems was to allow government employees and even some private business employees to start work an hour or two early, so they can leave work an hour or two earlier.
This reduces the amount of peak-hour traffic enormously.
You just need to put the option out there.
