Voters across Nunavut will pick their municipal government officials on Monday, Oct. 23.
In the weeks leading up to the election, Nunatsiaq News published articles about the races in each municipality. We’ve published links to all of them at the bottom of this article so readers can find out more about the candidates who want to run their communities.
Across Nunavut on Monday, polling stations will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
Adults who are Canadian citizens and residents of the community where they intend to vote are eligible to vote.
Even if they’re not on the voters list yet, people can be added to the list at the last minute either online or by showing up at the polling station with proper identification, according to Elections Nunavut’s website.
On Monday night, visit the Nunatsiaq News website for stories about election night results as they become available.
