Greenland sends condolences to Nunavut

The Greenland Parliament has sent its condolences to the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut, following the death of speaker Jobie Nutarak.
“Having learned about the tragic death of the Honourable Jobie Nutarak, [speaker] of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut, I wish to condole with the Parliament on the too early loss of this outstanding politician,” wrote Jonathan Motzfeldt, the speaker the Greenland Home Rule parliament. “We were shocked and sad to hear the tragic news. It’s a major loss of a good man, a very good, fair and wise President [speaker] and leader.”
Motzfeldt also said that he wished to express his sympathy to the bereaved family.
“They are in our thoughts and prayers.”
The Legislative Assembly of Nunavut has set up its own book of condolences, which the public can sign in the legislature foyer until May 1. Nunavummiut can also email condolences to condolences@assembly.nu.ca or fax them to 867-975-5190.
