The Iqaluit Fire Department is looking for volunteer firefighters.

They’re needed to help full-time staff respond to incidents including fires, vehicle collisions and other emergencies, according to a City of Iqaluit news release.

Volunteer firefighters are required to carry a pager with them at all times, every day, and could be called out at any time to respond to an emergency. Those recruited will receive extensive weekly nighttime training, the release states.

Anyone interested can attend an information session May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Iqaluit fire station. For more information, email firechief@iqaluit.ca.
