Since first coming to visit Nunavut in 2021, Marie Mailloux has been obsessed with the northern lights, she said. Since returning to Rankin Inlet on March 4, she has been waiting for the right opportunity to go hunting for them. “Everything looked good on the 15th of March; I bundled up, put my electric socks on and headed out walking for a couple hours — nothing like whistling in minus 30s.” (Photo courtesy of Marie Mailloux) ᑕᐃᒪᙵᑦ ᓯᕗᓪᓕᖅᐹᒥ ᓄᓇᕗᒧᐊᕋᒥ 2021ᒥ, ᒪᕆ ᒥᓘ ᐊᕐᓴᕐᓂᕐᓂ ᐱᐅᒃᓴᐃᓐᓇᐃᔭᖅᑐᖅ, ᐅᖃᕐᑐᖅ. ᑲᖏᖅᖠᓂᖅᒧᑦ ᐅᑎᓚᐅᖅᑎᓪᓗᒍ ᒫᔅᓯ 4ᒥ ᐅᑕᖅᑭᑲᑕᒃᑐᖅ ᑕᑯᔭᖅᑐᕐᓂᐊᕐᓂᖓᓂᒃ ᑖᒃᑯᓂᖓ. “ᒫᔅᓯ 15ᒥ ᐅᓪᓗᖅ ᐱᐅᔪᐊᓘᓚᐅᕐᑐᖅ; ᐊᓐᓄᕌᑦᑎᐊᖅᖢᖓ ᐊᒻᒪ ᐅᐊᔭᓖᒃ ᐊᓕᒃᓰᒃᑲ ᐊᑎᓪᓗᒋᑦ ᐊᒻᒪ ᐱᓱᑲᑕᒋᐊᓕᖅᖢᖓ – ᐊᔾᔨᖃᙱᑦᑐᖅ ᐅᕕᙱᐊᕋᖅᖢᓂ ᓯᓚ ᓂᒡᓚᓱᒃᑎᓪᓗᒍ ᒪᐃᓇᔅ 30ᙱᓐᓃᖢᓂ.” (ᐊᔾᔨᙳᐊᖅ ᐅᕙᙵᑦ ᒪᕆ ᒥᓘ)

Nice.
Nice shot, can be hard to get a good angle of that Inuksuk with the northern lights because of the rankin light pollution and lotta buildings nearby
