Police arrested three men and seized illicit drugs and firearms in Kuujjuaq Thursday morning.
As part of a joint investigation between the Sûreté du Québec and Nunavik Police Service, search warrants were executed at three residences, according to a news release from Quebec’s provincial police force.
Police seized 40 grams of cocaine, about 10 firearms, 30 grams of illicit cannabis concentrate and $7,000 in cash. They also seized cannabis gummies, bulk cannabis, cannabis butter, electronic devices, and drug trafficking equipment.
The three men, all in their 30s, were released following their arrests on the condition that they appear in court.
The seized firearms are hunting rifles , most inuks have hunting rifles in their home.
Cops just love embellishing this story.
Not an embellishment.
Shootings murders and suicides by firearm in nunavik are nearly all done by hunting rifles and shotguns. These weapons in the hands of an unstable person, example: high as a kite on cocaine, turn into tools of harm.
The ones going around town high on coke all the time are not to be trusted in any circumstance.
Yes indeed hunting rifles people’s high. Also the ones selling the stuff, and hunting guns. As far as I know, a charge of drug possession illegally, especially for purposes of distribution has consequences of not being able to own a gun for years, not that these guns were registered, probably not, but at least their names will be put in the data bank, if they’re charged.
Sell cocaine = have your guns seized. Hunting rifles or not, simple as that.
Bravo for police. The mayor of kuujjuaq was on fm encouraging citizens to come forward about drug dealers a few weeks ago. I’m hoping to see the municipality’ starting to think seriously about getting theses drug dealers kick out of town, not have them continue the dangerous activities. Put them in jail, and exiled from the community. They’re not welcome in kuujjuaq, even if they are from here. Let them be somewhere , where they’re more likely to behave better.
Hold on there!… What would Jesus say? Condemn others and you condemn yourself. People make bad choices at some point in life. Doesn’t mean your bad forever. These people who do these illegal activities needs our help to find the good way of living again. Let’s be more helpful and kind, that goes a long way. Have a good day and night.?
Oh no! My Snow ? lol
2 of the 3 were not inuit. The amount of problems and sorrow these white southerners bring to the region is unfathomable. I’ve seen everything from suicide to neglected children due to thier greed. Lock em up.
Where there is a demand, there is a supplier.
Don’t do drugs = no supplier.
Race has nothing to do with it. I have seen nothing but Inuit dealers in Iqaluit in front of the co-op and northmart.
since the bigging of time , human have been getting high and drunk in one form or another, the demand will always be there.
Look at previous drug busts in kuujjuaq. More than 50% of the time, it’s white people. All people with connections for hard drugs usually have been integrated in the south at one time or another. In Iqaluit, you have pushers that work for white people. Here, in Kuujjuaq, they’re way more open. They don’t give a rats behind because, how else are the fiends going to get their supply? By an Inuk who’s barely ever spent time in the south?
Look at the white people bringing cocaine into Nunavik too. The ones with the nicest cars, multiple cars. I am not giving out names, but look for those men with the nicest cars
