A 28-year-old man is facing charges under the Nunavut Liquor Act, following an RCMP seizure in Sanikiluaq on Wednesday.

The suspect, who was not identified in an RCMP news release issued Thursday, is charged with unlawful sale and supplying liquor to someone under the age of 19.

RCMP officers carried out a search warrant at a residence and seized a quantity of vodka — seven 375-millilitre bottles, nine 1.75-litre bottles and three 750-millilitre bottles — as well as 14 355-millilitre cans of beer.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court in Sanikiluaq on Sept. 25.

Under the Liquor Act, Sanikiluaq is one of six Nunavut communities where alcohol is prohibited.

The names appear confidential, at least?

Still confidential for not naming the youth(s) who he sold it to.

It says the under the age of 19 and did not release the gender identity and still did not release the names of the minors. Still confidential.

Man made a wrong move, must’ve been out of desperation for money.

What in this article is breaking confidentiality, Nothing,
I am happy the RCMP are doing their job and getting scumbags dealers and bootleggers of the street.

As long as there’s a demand, someone will supply the chemicals. Should blame the user too, not just the dealer.

Nope. The bootlegger is the adult. He’s in the wrong. The kid made a terrible choice too, but the bootlegger is the villain and selfish predator here.

Still confidential. They did not release the names or the gender of the under age person(s).

Person(s) he sold it to must’ve screw up while drinking that he supplied to who he provided to. Wrong move man, wrong move.

Thanks for clearing that out LMAO, I wasn’t sure if it was boys because that was my first thought, turns out it was girls. He probably lured those girls out and pay them with drink. I don’t know.

Just so you know you are the one breaching the confidentiality by stating they are girls, that really narrows the pool especially in a small community like Sanikiluaq…. might want to think about that before posting next time.

Man made a dumb move for supplying alcohol to underage. Hi Louisa, how do you know they were girls because it does say the gender of the under age.
