Military activity causes buzz around Iqaluit airport

A Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 jet roars past the Iqaluit airport Wednesday. The Canadian military is carrying out training exercises to support its role in Norad, or the North American Aerospace Defence Command. The operations started Tuesday. Residents likely noticed more military planes and personnel around the airport as part of the exercises. A spokesperson for Canadian Norad Region Headquarters declined to say how long the exercises would last. (Photo by Frank Reardon, special to Nunatsiaq News)
