Jaxon Pala Puqiqnak, 12, of Gjoa Haven, wears a handmade Edmonton Oilers parka his mother Abby Puqiqnak finished Monday after two weeks of work. The parka features No. 97, the number worn by Oilers captain Connor McDavid, but Jaxon’s favourite Oiler is Leon Draisaitl. Although his mother and siblings are Toronto Maple Leafs fans, Jaxon and his dad Paul are devoted Oilers fans and have travelled to Edmonton for games over the past six years. I wonder if you should add a bit about how it was made. For instance, was the branding purchased? Was the parka perhaps made from an NHL jersey? I worry about this from a copyright POV. The NHL was pretty ticked off when some businesses had drawn the Canuck logo in their store windows during the playoffs one year.

Or, perhaps this shouldn’t be put out there for all to see. Sadly the NHL is litigous.

Who cares honestly. Do you think the NHL or the Oilers want the PR nightmare that will ensue if they sue a young inuit oilers fan over intellectual property rights? Gimme a break, please.
