- A — The winning team was the Rankin Inlet Falcons, who pulled out a 2-1 squeaker over the Kangiqsujuaq Penguins to win the A division title at the Twerdin hockey tournament.
- A — The entire community of Pond Inlet turned out April 18 to celebrate the efforts of the nine mushers and support team members. The race, which wrapped up April 16, was won for the third straight year by Jinneal Nanuraq Uttak of Igloolik.
- C — P.J. Akeeagok, the former premier of Nunavut, was named to Carney’s committee alongside other notables like former Quebec premier Jean Charest and ex-Liberal cabinet minister Ralph Goodale.
- B — Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. announced a $10-million contribution to the planned Inuit Nunangat University on Tuesday. Previously announced major contributors include the Mastercard Foundation, Makivvik, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. and the federal government.
