Les Rouges fans cheer on Canada’s World Cup team at Iqaluit theatre

Iqaluit’s Alia Bigio joins other soccer fans at a watch party the Astro Hill theatre July 4 to cheer on Team Canada in its World Cup game against Morocco. The teams met Saturday in Houston, Texas in the tournament’s round of 16. The North African country beat Canada 3-0, advancing to the quarter-finals. Bigio said she was proud to see Canada advance so far and for putting up a good fight against the Moroccans, the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions and ranked seventh in the world.
