A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle on July 1 in Kangiqsujuaq, Nunavik Police Service says.
Officers responded at around 3:48 a.m. to a report of a man struck by a vehicle in the community’s marina parking lot.
An ambulance transported the man to the local nursing station, where he was pronounced dead, wrote deputy Chief Shaun Longstreet in an email Tuesday evening.
A man was arrested shortly after the incident, and a vehicle of interest was recovered.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
About 800 people live in the northern Quebec community.
