Clyde River boy missing after falling from makeshift raft
Child was with another youth, on separate rafts, when he went into the bay

A boy from Clyde River is missing after apparently falling from a makeshift raft last week near the community.
Police were notified about the situation on Aug. 6 at around 8 a.m., police said Tuesday in a news release.
Two young people were floating on separate makeshift rafts near the community when the current pulled them out, the release said.
One fell into the water and did not resurface.
Neither of them were wearing a life jacket.
Police, search and rescue, and community members looked for the boy using boats, ATVs, a drone and foot patrols along the coast.
Some residents posted on social media appealing to hunters and boaters to keep an eye out for any unusual items in the water.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Ashley Daley wrote in an email that she can’t confirm what the rafts were made from and that the search will continue until the boy is located.
