Photo: A medal for Kuujjuaq’s former mayor Paul Parsons

Kuujjuaq mayor Tunu Napartuk shakes hands with Kuujjuaq’s previous mayor Paul Parsons after presenting him with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal April 22 in Kuujjuaq. “By Command of Her Majesty the Queen, the Diamond Jubilee Medal is presented to you (Paul Parsons) in commemoration of the sixtieth anniversary (1952-2012) of Her Majesty’s Accession to the Throne and in recognition of your contributions to Canada. Signed by Governor General of Canada,” read the certificate accompanying the medal. The medal was presented at the beginning of the April 22 Kuujjuaq Hockey Gala in the Katittavik town hall auditorium.
