Photo: Iqaluit gets speed bumps

Ba-boom! Iqaluit has some new speed bumps around town. Kudlik Construction is in the process installing six speed bumps in Iqaluit. Expect to seem them near the following areas: the Northwestwel building, Arctic Ventures Marketplace, Lower Base playground, Happy Valley playground, Anuri Street playground, and Apex playground. “The City of Iqaluit expects minor disruptions to traffic flow while the speed bumps are being installed and apologizes for any invconvenience,” said a City of Iqaluit Public Service Announcement Sept. 17. The speed bumps accompany the new painted crosswalks around the city — these follow the death of a four-year-old in July who was struck and killed by a truck in the area around Arctic Ventures Marketplace.
