Escaped prisoner in Iqaluit turns himself in to BCC

An inmate who fled the Baffin Correctional Centre during a recreational break on the afternoon of Sept. 18 has turned himself in, the Iqaluit RCMP said.

Earlier in the day RCMP organized what they called a “calculated search effort” for a young man, Lucassie Simeonie, who escaped from BCC at around 3:10 p.m. Sept. 18.

Police said they will talk to Simeonie on the morning of Sept. 19 to find out where he spent his time while at large in Iqaluit.
