Inquest into principal’s death delayed until fall

Nunauvt’s chief coroner, Elizabeth Copland, has adjourned the inquest into the death of Nakasuk elementary school principal Hal Richards until Sept. 17.

The delay comes at the request of the family, Copland said.

Richards, 52, died suddenly on June 9, 2001.

Although the inquest is not a criminal matter, it will be heard at the Iqaluit courthouse.
