The Ungava Cup goes to the senior men’s team from Kangiqsujuaq— again

Late on March 13, it became clear Nunavik’s Ungava Cup would go home again with the Flames from Kangiqsujuaq.

During the final game of the Ungava Cup tournament in Kangiqsualujjuaq, the Flames won 7-4 over the Kuujjuaq Ummingmaks to win the Ungava Cup for the fourth year in a row.

Kangirsuk’s senior men’s team placed third in the tournament which started March 10.

Its home team finished in fourth place, after losing a tight match, 5- 3, against Kuujjjuaq’s team in the semi-finals.

The most valued player of the tournament: Korn Pinguapik of Kangirsuk.

Four referees from Hockey Québec came to Kangiqsualujjuaq for the Ungava Cup tournament where they refereed 19 games in four days.

And, after the tournament ended, people in the stands came down on the ice to shake their hands to thank them for coming,
