KUUJJUAQ— The violent death of a woman in Kangirsuk on Sept. 16 remains under investigation by the Sûrété du Quebec’s major crimes squad.

SQ investigators flew to the Ungava Bay community to investigate the circumstances around the woman’s death.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident, an SQ spokesperson in Rouyn-Noranda said.

The man is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 18 in Amos after which the name of the accused can be made public.

The dispute was an “internal family argument” which “went the wrong way,” said Sgt. Richard Gagné.
