Police seize cocaine, $6,000 cash
Raid also uncovers trafficking paraphernalia
An Iqaluit man has been charged with narcotics offences after police found 11 grams of cocaine in his house.
Shaun Compton Sharp, 29, faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; possession of property obtained by crime; laundering proceeds of crime and two breaches of undertaking.
Police raided house 2518 in Iqaluit on Sept. 15 after a month-long investigation.
The drugs are worth an estimated $2,200 on the streets, police say.
In addition to the drugs, they also found a digital scale, miniature bags and $1,000 in cash.
At the request of the police, Canada Post intercepted a parcel on its way to Quebec and found another $5,000 in cash.
Sharp was released with conditions. He will appear before the Nunavut Court of Justice in early November.
