Nunavik and Quebec police are investigating after two people were found dead, and another injured, early Friday in Kuujjuaq.
Quebec provincial police say officers were called to respond to a domestic dispute at home in the community at around 5:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 44-year-old woman with serious injuries and marks of violence. She died shortly afterwards in Kuujjuaq’s hospital, said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Nancy Fournier.
A second person, a man, was also discovered in the same home with injuries, though he is now recovering in hospital, she said.
Fournier said that individual is not considered a suspect in relation to the woman’s death.
Later that same morning, just after 10 a.m., police said they discovered the body of a 41-year-old man in a separate residence. Fournier said the man is believed to have been seen at the scene of the earlier attack.
“We’re trying to determine now if there’s any correlation between the two incidents,” Fournier said.
