Man charged in Kangirsuk death
Woman dies during domestic dispute

A Kangirsuk man faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman from Puvirnituq on Sept. 15 or during the early hours of Sept. 16.
George Nassak, 43, appeared by videoconference in front of a judge on Sept. 17, to face a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Siasi Tukalak, 35.
Sûrété du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Benoît Richard said the investigation showed that a man and a woman got into an alcohol-fuelled domestic dispute in a residence in Kangirsuk.
Police took the man into custody on Sept.16.
The SQ’s major crimes squad arrived from Montreal on Sept. 16 to conduct an investigation into the circumstances around the death.
The SQ said Nassak’s next court appearance is scheduled for November.
